Lifelike Atmospheres have kept themselves busy the past month providing lighting for the hit musical Wicked at the Civic theatre Newcastle staged by Metropolitan Players from 24 August to September 3. The musical was based on the central characters of two young women, Elphaba and Galinda, ‘who are shown in later life in The Wizard of Oz as respectively the Wicked Witch of the West and Galinda the Good, a witch who helps that story’s Dorothy’. The production proved to be a huge success, with its ‘colourful musical features’ and ‘amazing sights’ (Herald Review). The lighting featured in the show included Event Lighting’s led 12x3 PIXBARs forming the unique ‘W’s’ within the truss framework and 5x8 led Pars utilised as truss warmers.
