A: The battery can be charged at any time, but we recommend charging it to full capacity before use.

Q: How can I prevent over-discharging the battery?
A: The fixture has battery over-discharge protection. For PAR6X12OB2, if the battery voltage drops below 7.2V, the light will turn off. For PAR4X12B2, if the battery voltage drops below 10V, the light will turn off.

Q: Can the Battery Parcan be used while it is being charged?
A: It is not recommended to use the Battery Parcan while it is being charged. The combination of the light generating heat during operation and the additional heat generated during charging can cause the lithium battery to overheat, potentially reducing its lifespan.

Q: What happens when the Parcan is connected to mains power and switched on?
A: When the Parcan is connected to mains power and switched on, it will use the mains power to operate while simultaneously charging the battery. However, it is advised not to keep it in this state for longer than 2 hours.

Q: How long should I charge the units for?
A: The units should be charged until they reach full capacity. Typically, this process takes around 4-6 hours, depending on the required charge. Charging the units for longer than necessary can damage the battery and reduce its lifespan.

Q: How should I prepare the battery for long-term storage?
A: Before storing the Battery Parcan, ensure that the battery is 80% charged. Additionally, it is recommended to fully discharge and charge the battery at least once per month to maintain its lifespan. Failure to do so may result in a reduced battery lifespan.

Q: How long can I expect the battery in my unit to last?
A: The overall lifespan of the battery depends on factors such as how the fixture is operated and the charging cycles. With proper care, you can expect a minimum of 3 months of battery life, and potentially as long as 2-3 years or even longer.
