For the fourth year in a row Vertigo Entertainment have supplied New Years’ eve production for the prestigious super yacht Quantum. This $10M yacht offers luxurious cruising to the rich and famous like Jay-Z and Paris Hilton, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt so the Vertigo crew have to ensure that the music, audio and lighting match these very high standards. The super yacht was decked out with some of Events Lighting’s most sought after LED Flat Par and Pixel Bar fixtures, and to top it off a pair of high powered 150W Moving Head Beam lights. Accompanied with a high end QSC sound system, and top of the line Pioneer DJ equipment.

The yacht has to be kept in pristine condition and as there are no rigging points as such, all the lighting equipment has to be mounted on customised H-stands to protect the precious paintwork and finish. And the evening was not without its excitement when the Maritime Police showed up to request that the moving heads be turned off, as some of the larger vessels in Sydney harbour where getting confused trying to navigate, due to the incredibly bright beam effects coming from the roof. Vertigo DJ Jonny Reay commented “the output of these beam fixtures has blown me away with the spots visible on land from the middle of Sydney harbour”. With the champagne flowing freely and a bird’s eye view of the fireworks the guests were absolutely delighted, with the Captain of the vessel conveying his hearty thanks to the Vertigo crew for another superb production.
